Last month, we travelled down to the University of Huddersfield to film a project for archive and museum, Heritage Quay. We were set the project of producing six educational films about the history of the local area of Huddersfield, which involved shooting a whole range of footage to tie this whole project together. The documentary is focused on the Music, Sport, Politics, Industry and Arts of Huddersfield and will be used in schools, ranging from KS1 to 3 in Huddersfield to educate children about their local heritage.
Heritage Quay have gathered memorabilia and objects from the local area and documented these throughout the video. So what was a part of this film project? Interviews, product shots, incorporating film footage from the museum with live action and animated elements. These elements will be photos directly from the archive, splitting them up into interesting ways, using methods such a parallax and puppeteering.
If you want to find out more about how our animators use methods including parallax and puppeteering, then you can watch our video below about how we put together this Heritage Quay project.
