Last week, we set off to the Leeds Discovery Centre to shoot a promotional film for Leeds Museums & Galleries. Our brief was to film and include certain objects from various categories that were scattered around the Discovery Centre, whilst incorporating volunteer students to promote the centre, all into a 2-3 minute promotional film.
The idea of the film was to show an object from all areas of the collections, which included the natural sciences, archaeology, geology, social history, textiles and world cultures. Each curator from the collections within the store outlined the objets they wanted featuring throughout the film. We then coordinated the students to observe these objects on film, whilst we captured multiple angles of their 'discovery'. Our footage involved object close-ups, walking shots of the students, slider video scenes, and finding the most creative ways to display the objects.
We love making promo films, and capturing the most cinematic shots . We wanted to show a stunning representation of the location and atmosphere to encourage young students to visit Leeds Discovery Centre. It was a jam-packed day, and our camera operator Paul even got to film a crane shot.. !
