Along the beautiful coastline of North Wales, our crew travelled to the small village of Nefyn to interview artist and metalworker Junko Mori for Temple Newsam House in Leeds. As part of the museum's upcoming exhibition: Silver Showstoppers, we were asked to create a series of short films to showcase the modern silver centrepieces.
As part of the short film, we filmed Junko's story as a metalworker to find out how she made the artwork, along with what inspired her work, where we took a brisk walk to her local beach to capture the real essence of her inspiration. On a separate day, we also filmed Miriam Hanid, another silversmith who will be displaying their artwork in Temple Newsam House next month.
The exhibition will showcase the continuation and reinvention of traditional silversmithing techniques and celebrate women in silver, as makers and owners. It will be displayed from the 13th May - 15th October 2017.
