What’s involved in video production?

Every day, the amount of video content uploaded and viewed worldwide continues to spiral upwards - we love sharing video and we also love consuming it. Did you know the average video retains 37% of viewers all the way to the end of the video? It really is the best way to get your message across.

Once you decide to include video marketing in your strategy, the first questions you need to ask are: ‘what is our message’, and ‘what is our story’.

So what are the steps involved with video production?

The Creative

Whilst we love taking time to help our clients come up with a creative for their upcoming video production, it’s always important to come to us with a rough idea of your project/campaign and the goals behind it.

How do you plan your campaign carefully? Ask your business this: why are you making the content? Who is the target audience? What does success look like?

Once your message is clear and signed off in the creative stage, the next step is to begin production. Where will this be filmed? Who will be in the video? When will this be filmed?

Pre-production is a vital ingredient of any video production project and allows you to successfully plan for the creative you designed. At Digifish, our producers can take care of all this for you, so you can sit back until the film day.

Put simply, this is the step where you film what you planned for. Lights, camera, action. At Digifish, we ensure the presenters/actors feel at ease behind the camera. We then take the raw footage back to the editing stage.

It is then the turn of our editors to do their magic, and turn it into a glossy professional campaign in post-production. Simple. You can have all the right footage in the world, but it’s vital you also have the necessary skills to bring it to life through post-production - you don't want the message to be weakened and fail to connect with the majority of its audience. Post-production is all about editing and colour grading. The way in which this is created can give your campaign the look and feel you desire.

We hope this has given you an insight into the necessary steps to creating your next video, and if you feel you are ready to take the first step, give us a call today on 0330 024 0082. We look forward to speaking to you soon.
