Social media edits are fast becoming a standard deliverable for our clients.
What was once a 5 minute promotional video is now a 90 second promotional film along with 15 to 30 second edits for social media. There is no denying that over the last few years, there has been a huge shift in how we choose to promote our businesses, in particular - online. The world of digital marketing is ever-evolving, and we’ve experienced this first hand, watching how the last 10 years of Digifish has unfolded.
More and more of our clients are requesting multiple social media edits for their businesses and organisations, in addition to their initial requirement. So you may be wondering just how valuable is video on social media? Well, it is said that video outperforms all other content when looking at conversion rates. It continues to be the dominate focus of most companies marketing spend. We talk about the many benefits of video marketing in our recent training series, so if you would like to find out how it can help with your marketing strategy, click here: https://www.digifish.news/blog/2018/4/6/our-video-marketing-training-videos.
We love helping organisations with their social media content. If you’re thinking about investing in video production as part of your marketing spend in 2018, we’re sharing some valuable insights in using video in social media marketing.
How long should a social media edit be?
Ideally, we recommend your video should be no longer than one minute in length. This is the optimum amount of time someone will watch a video in a social media feed, before engagement levels drop. Remember, the first 5 seconds of your social media clip is the deciding factor for whether your viewer will continue to watch. Don’t forget: around 85% of Facebook videos are watched without sound because of the default setting, so those first few seconds have to engage with no audio!
What format does our video need to be?
We recommend MP4, so that your file can upload seamlessly to all of the platforms: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. However, if you require video for Snapchat or Instagram Stories, we use 1080 pixels wide and 1920 pixels in height - also known as an aspect ratio of 9:16.
Here are some examples of some recent social media edits we produced for our clients and their specific needs.
