It has been another jam-packed weekend working with the great team at Mark Hill Hair. We headed down to the Clothes Show which was based at the NEC in Birmingham and spent the weekend filming the Mark Hill pop-up event. Blogger Sophie Hannah Richardson was there to feature in all the Mark Hill hair tutorials which we filmed across the two days, as well as grabbing live footage of the event itself.
So what do we bring when filming large events? We love to take two cameras. It allowed us to capture the atmosphere at the Clothes Show from two different angles. For Sophie's hair tutorials, it allowed us to have one camera to film the tutorial, whilst the other was focused on the detail/close-ups of the hair. So that when our editors back at the office start putting it altogether - it makes the video tutorial have a look more depth to it, making it smoother and detailed.
We rigged up the steadicam with the Sony Fs7, which James was using throughout the Saturday to grab some glitzy slick footage from the day. Meanwhile, we had Andy on his Fs7 camera too, with Paul directing the entire weekend's worth of footage.
With so much happening within a short space of time, our team had to fit a lot of footage into one weekend. So what was our schedule? We covered the entire Mark Hill event, being one of the most prominent exhibits at the show. Filming and capturing an incredibly buzzing and exciting day, with thousands of people attending the Clothes Show. By the end of the weekend, we had filmed a total of eight tutorials with blogger Sophie Hannah Richardson styling her own hair and members of the public. With events like these, we had to take on a reactionary role, as you never know what time celebrities and bloggers will turn up. Events like these are always great to film but time really does just fly by.
After many curling wands and hair spray footage later, we are back at the office and about to begin editing on this project, so stay tuned to see the final tutorials and videos from Mark Hill at the Clothes Show!
