Having previously worked with the University of York on many exciting projects in our time, we recently started producing their very own Future Learn videos. Ever heard of Future Learn? It is the place to learn anything. With a wide variety of online courses readily available for the public, from Language & Culture to Business & Management; Science & Technology to Health & Psychology - the website makes learning as natural as chatting with a group of friends - so they say!
The videos, entitled ‘Digital Citizenship’, were created to provide knowledgeable, creative and inspiring content from the University of York and their Future Learn courses. The University came to us asking for a style of video that would make them stand out in a crowded market place… so we gave it the oomph it needed. For the promo, we wanted to entice learners to register for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) and produced a modern, creative and appealing video, to their target audience. The aim was to ‘wow’ the public and that is something we feel we definitely achieved! Want to see our University of York promo video? See our full version below!
As for the interview style videos, we were asked to produce sixteen short videos, including infographics/motion graphics to support the key points throughout each film. Balancing knowledgeable information, with making this appealing to young learners, to entice them to the University of York through the short courses. The editor, Matthew Clarke, explains: “Future Learn Chemistry MOOC was an engaging and creative take on the presentation of university sourced course materials for an online learning platform. We fused multi-layered motion graphics and virtual studio set-ups that gave the tutor, Andy, a great inventive space to interact directly with many elements from the course.”
We really enjoyed making these Future Learn videos, and with our in-house specialist knowledge of the educational sector, we love working on projects like these!
